Error message from itunes after start sharepod

iTunes (current version) is installed correctly. After installing and starting sharepod pops up an iTunes message "iTunes was not installed correctly. Please reinstall iTunes"

Please first try updating Sharepod by clicking on File menu > Check for Updates. If you are using the most current version, please see the article below:
